Clean and Dry Surfaces: Start by thoroughly cleaning the surfaces you plan to paint. Remove dirt, grease, and moisture, as they can affect the adhesion of the paint. For exterior wood surfaces, sand or chemically strip any existing aluminum before applying primer and paint. Additionally, scrape off any loose paint while the surface is still wet to create a smooth base for the new coat.

Pre-Painting Cleaning: A few days before painting, dedicate time to deep cleaning. Wash windows with soap and water, scrub walls with soapy water, and address stains on the floor.
